Liberty Is Where It’s At
Once famous for its tuberculosis-fighting Loomis Sanitarium, Liberty is now a quiet mountain town that features a couple of my favorite places to visit.
Town & Country Antiques
First is Town & Country Antiques, one of the best places to go antiquing in the Catskills. Town & Country has a large main floor and basement filled with all sorts of treasures from almost every era including furniture, art, clothing, toys and housewares. On my last visit there I saw a lot more mid-century pieces, which is an exciting development and will keep me coming back to see what else they come up with next. Here are a few of the things that caught my eye and I had to restrain myself from buying on my last visit:

Deer coffee pot and matching cups with gold cow creamer and shell dessert plates that technically don’t go together but really should.

Last but not least was this fabulous mercury class Christmas tree, if it is still there the next time I visit I will buy it.
Flyod and Bobo’s Baker and Snack Palace
When you’re done treasure hunting at Town & Country head down the street and check out Floyd and Bobo’s Bakery – Snack Palace where you can treat yourself to coffee and a tasty. We have been working our way though their menu and can verify everything is delicious. The only thing we haven’t tried yet is one of their made-to-order pies and cakes but that’s on the list for this fall.
